The last of the old Wente Selections at their Jarvis Vineyard. Chewy tannins, bristling acidity and still loads of fruit make this one I wish that I had aged another 10+ years. Very intense, with a strong underlayment of forest duff, leather and perhaps just a touch of barnyard/Brett character that evokes older Burgundies. Feels like drinking a slice of history.
