Six Pinots, all made by Ed Kurtzman, of August West and Roar fame who also consults to Freeman and Mansfield Dunn. Ed joined our tasting. Whole cluster, seemed a bit too steamy for my palate.

On the lighter side. Make sure you pair appropriately to fully enjoy. I missed that window here...

Wonderful balance of fruit and earth. Shows more Burgundy in style. Lighter profile than most California PN which I like! Had to go after the cork a second time...but I do think this is drinking very nicely! Seemed a bit short on the finish but everything else makes up for it! I had to pull out a magnifying glass to read the alcohol %..14.4! Oh boy!! This is really smooth and does not show! 🙃

Medium red color; pretty, though not delicate nose; red berry and pomegranate with some enticing tartness

I’m not sure there is a better option at this level. Ed clearly enjoys his craft and knows what he is doing. Fruity, spicy, serious and fun. Was a great pair with a simple wood grilled chicken, roasted sweet potatoes and a winter salad. Food friendly but don’t feel bad if you don’t have dinner planned as it is a pleasure to drink in its own.
