Bien Nacido Vineyard Pinot Noir

Tried it blind and guessed a Spanish Rioja. Either I suck, or this isn't a very good Cali Pinot noir, is it?
Despite that, I like it very much. Why must we be so caught up in whether the varietal is expressing itself accurately? Sometimes it's just whether the wine is doing its job or not, right?

Big red cherry and red berry fruit, cola and sandalwood/spice. Round and big mouthfeel

Smooth and slightly fruity. Perfect with a ribeye but went well with my chicken.

Hi. How is your night? Oh that's nice. Mine is fantastic. Drinking an unreal pinot noir, and eating aged cheese and foreign cured meats. Fruit, beautiful on the nose, and the finish is top notch. Happy labour day long weekend!

Better the second day when some of the upfront flavour profile had blown off and the secondary character emerged. A good match for duck breast.

As expected, big red fruit all around. Very full in the mouth. Straightforward but not bad.
