Garnet Carneros Pinot Noir

Fun one to dig out of the cellar, pretty and feminine Pinot, evidence against the bullshit argument that Carneros is too hot for Pinot, anyone who has farmed in Carneros or walked across the Golden Gate Bridge (same weather current) knows how cold and windy it is there. This 2008 is light bodied with nice charm and perfume.

Here we go again

Pronounced nose and palate of bright red cherries, ripe raspberry, cranberry sauce, clove, vanilla, leaves. Whole bunch maceration is obvious, good structure with beautifully long finish.

Needed some time to open, but complex and balanced with steak

Strawberries, bosky, a bit of licorice. Still holds up as an elegant pinot.

Fruit still there. Very decent wine for a Sunday night. Nothing special but very enjoyable. Still has structure and some depth. Nice surprise!

Might have been good once upon a time but the brettanomyces in this wine didn't give it a chance. Poopy barnyard with no fruit left.

Musty at first, but opened up nicely

It is Pinot Noir but have strong flavor.
