Saint Helena Winery
Reserve Sympa Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
My 2nd bottle of this 03’ vintage. Pretty much the same note as the first bottle I tasted about 4 months ago, but on the palate this seems to be more evolved and integrated. Complex, bold yet refined.

Feb 19th, 2021The winery’s estate cab is one of my favorites, yet I didn’t really know what to expect out of this flagship bottling as 2003 is a week vintage for Napa.
Nose of blueberry, cassis, light raspberry, dark roasted coffee beans, incense, thyme, Chinese herbs, old leather, and rusted iron. The palate, while smooth, is very delicate and at times appears to be chewy, with layers of flavors that hit you like gentle waves. Dusty tannins.
This is all about complexity and nuances. Did not disappoint.

Loved this Cab. Inky purple in the glass. A beautiful floral nose and loads of blueberry and blackberry fruit. This a full-bodied, complex wine with elegant tannins and structure.
