Deep, elegant Tempranillo-based blend with some Mencía, Garnacha, Mazuelo and other yet unidentified indigenous varieties from recently recuperated old vineyards grown at elevations of over 1,000m within the Sabinares Natural Park in Arlanza -a small and relatively unknown appellation halfway between Ribera del Duero and Rioja. Savory, dusty, pine needles and balsamic notes, great acidity. Only 2742 bottles were filled in 2013.

July 8, 2018. Dinner w/ J2, Jack D, KK. Beautiful deep red, fruit and lots of tannin. V dry. No.2726 of 3715 bottles made, for what it’s worth. It’s pricy. Didn’t seem THAT special.
