Friday night and I have opened the 2013 Saarloos & Sons Little Boy Syrah. This comes from the Ballard Canyon AVA of the Central Coast of California in Santa Barbara County. Keith Saarloos and the Saarloos Family do a wonderful job in their winemaking and this Little Boy Syrah is no exception.
On the nose there is beautiful fruit of blackberry, blueberry, mint, licorice, cola, clove, all spice and a chocolate note.
On the palate the fruit comes through very nicely with lovely notes of blackberry, blueberry, black pepper, licorice, clove, a herbaceousness and some well blended oak.
This is a full bodied wine with medium + acidity and medium + tannins that are grippy that lead to a long enjoyable finish. Have a great weekend and please be safe. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷
