First of the WSJ Wines. Mellowed than expected. I enjoy it!

Delightfully medium-to-full bodied. Paired well with a hearty pasta rigatoni in homemade ragú sauce meal. Notes of dark fruit especially blackberry and cherry. Excellent bottle for any occasion. Well-priced at USD$19 but likely to sell for USD$45 at a restaurant.

Had the 2021 in December of 2023. Enjoyed this one. Paired very well with a sound dried tomato and cream sauce chicken dish. Had some of the blackberry/cherry flavors. Medium bodied with some lingering tannins. Happy to have another bottle of this WSJ wine.

Not the best Chianti I've ever had. It just tasted very young there wasn't much depth to it. And it kind of had a tanginess to it that was a real turn off
