The 2005 “Crossroads” pours a deep garnet color with an opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and loads of fine sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous and deeply perfumed with a mix of ripe and dried currants, blackberries, a mix of red and purple flowers, pipe tobacco, cocoa, organic earth and fine baking spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin (integrated) and medium acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium+. This has held up really well. Drink now through 2035.
