El Dorado Gamay Noir
Damn good for this fall night and pumpkin carving. Crunchy, mineral, yet offers a super fine textural component as well. Crisp strawberry, red apple skin, crushed cranberry, raspberry leaf, white pepper, sweet flowers, spice, crushed rocks, wet moss, talcum, licorice. This has really came along, great tannin integration from LBT upon release, finely grained and postured. Love the juicy attack, and plump mid-palate backed by lifted acid. Fresh.

Oct 31st, 2018Perfectly evolved, silky smooth, granite driven, California sunshine Gamay. There's nothing over-ripe here, but there's no denying this is from Cali, not Morgon. The complete package, and better for a few years in the cellar.

Mar 13th, 2018These guys know Gamay, that I can tell you. Yes, more amply fruited and evocative than many Morgon's, but sensible. Yum!

Dec 3rd, 2016Yes please. California's highest Gamay Cru site. Now a few vintages in, this has finally found itself - comfortable with its new world curves, no longer striving for the lean elegance of Morgon. Worth keeping a few of these in the cellar, I think.

Jul 26th, 2016Lots of red fruits. Still fresh, but interesting to see the changes from the time in bottle.

Nov 9th, 2015A nice contrast to the Lapierre, cut from the same structural cloth but full of sun-kissed California fruit. Good now with a decant, ought to be great a couple years. Deeeeee-licious!
