Amazing 13 year old Napa Zinfandel tasting fantastic.
Briar, leather, root, dark fruit, jam, rhubarb, menthol, rubber tires, cherry, wild strawberries, musty fruit bowl.
We decanted it maybe 90 minutes ahead of time but it also tasted great right after opening.

2007 Zinfandel
A little past it's prime. Green pepper, oak, prunes, stewed cherries, medium to full body, dark purple color with a hint of brown.
Dusky, musky. Cedar.
Enjoyed with steak, asparagus, potatoes and mushrooms at Post/Hill wine bar?
2006 vintage being enjoyed in late 2015.

A truly eye-opening experience! A 2002 Rosenblum Lyons Reserve Zinfandel, which I was worried was over the hill, just blew all of us away! A perfect balance of acidity and fruit, a nose of nectar, a long finish, smooth, like nothing I have tasted. Not incredibly complex, but rich yet delicate ... 16% alcohol, but you would never know it. Completely changed my thinking about aging Zins, and will have me looking for more Ridge-like Zins (I doubt Rosenblum, as a corporate entity for many years now, makes Zins like this any more).

Oh, my. Just delightful. Smooth, no harshness or alcohol burn. Worth 20 to 25 a bottle IMHO. Full body and berry/ chocolate notes.
