Dusty white flowers and nuances of vanilla bean contrasted by crushed green apple, curry leaf and ashen stone waft up from the 2020 Chardonnay Sol to create a beguiling bouquet. This is a contrasting expression, with ripe fruits and silky textures offset by mineral-tinged acids and hints of sour citrus. It leaves the palate vibrating with tension and refreshed while closing with persistence, as a hint of almond paste lingers. I’m dreaming of white Burgundy while sipping this; yet there’s no need, because the Chardonnay Sol overdelivers. (Eric Guido, Vinous, April 2022)

Also not pictured is a bottle of jean Dauvissat chablis ( at cadet). This is from Oenetri in napa. Floral, lemony. So different than the chablis.

Jul 12th, 20232014. intense aroma of sponti fermentation, bariqque(vanilla, oak) with touch of yellow apricot aroma. med body, med p acid, med plus finish savory structure, yellow fruit are not well mingled yet. need to decant or aerate before service. definitely can benefit from aging...3 to 5 years. not yet.
