Texas High Plains Cinsault Rosé

@Delectable Wine : This is the Ron Yates Cinsault rosé, not the Sangiovese.

It’s getting bloody hot here in TX already, so it’s prime rosé weather. I’ve said it multiple times, TX is churning out very impressive rosés and whites (and some reds). @Ron Yates has crafted some high quality SauvBlancs and this is my first foray in to his rosés (he also has a Sangiovese and Grenache rosé).

This gives the Calais “Gaston” rosé (the best TX rosé I’ve had) a run for the money! Both being cinsault rosés. A nod to Provençal here with this wine. Kiwi, cantaloupe, and stone on the nose. Great texture and acidity. The mid-palate and finish goes to more of a bing-cherry and herbal note, with an orange-zest type of zing. You need to try this @Mark Flesher .

First time trying anything by Ron Yates and I’m diggin’ it; this is a really solid selection and it paired well with the amazing Texas Twinkies at the Cabernet Grill here in Fredericksburg.
