Pours out like motor oil. Blackberry jam, chocolate fudge, fruit cake on the nose. Deceptive, because the palate is pretty dry! And there’s a decent tartness, though could use more. Heavy woody tannins are a bit overwhelming. This could use maybe 20 more years in the bottle. If the tannins ever resolve.

So thick and woodsy... camphor, new leather, dried fruit, blueberry pie. Very nice.

Wow. Needs a ton of decanting and then some. But when you finally get there intense black fruit, licorice, star anise bitter cocoa. Tannins are present but multilayered and complex.

Roquefort, incense and black fruits on the nose.
Totally opaque
Extremely concentrated long, prickly and powerful - licorice glazing very ripe black fruits

I've had compotes with less extract and jelly. Chocolate, espresso and Sativa

Loved the dry and woody tannins of this. Kept improving in the glass (and probably has another 10+ years of upside potential) but why wait...so enjoyable and satisfying to enjoy with food now.

2006. Oak may still be integrating. But a great wine!
