Violets and dark berry and chocolate. Tannins still packing a punch. Gorgeous for many years to come.

No slouch, here. Wildly aromatic. Exceptional intensity of fruit. Screaming tannins. Layers of texture.

Huge, thick, dark fruited, oak, mint flavored chewing tobacco. Might as well be Amarone.

Licorice, dried fruits and leather. Rich and unctuous. Definitely not your everyday Valpolicella. Pretty amazing although not necessarily something I would drink every day.

We decanted this wine for SIX hours before enjoying by the way.

Okay...plenty of tobacco, leather notes from oak; but the cherry, blackberry, and anise/incense notes carry enough interest. Dark and fruit forward still at 14years old; the wine was a perfect match to roast suckling pig with bean purée and roast veggies. When in Venice, drink Venato!
