Istra Refošk

One of the better Refosks I've had. Dark, inky, and serious, but with a nice acidic lift to carry it.

Nice nose. Earthy with a spicy finish.

Inky dark purple. Blueberry blackberry juice with a little funk and easy tannins

Great value. Packed full of flavor. Like a dark, broody, Syrah with iodine/saline/savoury character and high toned florals/va.

Little chill on it, surprisingly delicious, and so sad when it was gone.

Freaking tasty and amazing value.

Another vintage of an old favorite. Deep red color. Aromas of dark berry fruit, leather, dried herbs and forest floor. Flavors of sour cherries, ripe strawberries, black raspberries, balsamic vinegar, sweet and earthy spices along with those dried herbs. Long, peppery, earthy and slightly sour finish. Nice complexity. Quite rustic but quite austere at the same time. Not overly acidic and oak notes are at a minimum.

Green bell pepper, licorice, leather, tar, ripe blackberries, earth, neutral oak. Low acidity, pretty integrated tannin.
