Sunday night a I had a sparkling wine I needed to open and this Roederer Estate Brut Anderson Valley Sparkler foots the bill.

On the nose there is lemon, green apples, apple blossoms, brioche and minerality.

The palate brings notes of lemon, pear, green apple, almonds and wet flint rocks.

This wine is fully complex with a medium body and a creamy mouthfeel, there is medium + acidity that leads us to a long crisp fresh finish. A very clean a pleasing wine that I could drink anytime. Have a great week ahead and stay safe. Nostrovia! 🥂🥂🥂🥂

Because bitcoin doesn’t go up forever, and we can’t drink Cristal every night. Fortunately Louis Roederer produces a dynamite sparkler from their estate in Anderson Valley for a song... wholesale price for a case of Roederer Estate Brut is roughly the retail price for a bottle of Cristal. When you factor in the price, this is stunning. Outrageous complexity meets mouthwatering deliciousness. Loaded with baked and toasted overtones, the apple and lemon somehow manages to make it back to the surface. Refreshing and yet heavily spiced. You should have a bottle of this in your fridge at all times. And this was, deservedly, #25 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 of 2017.

Delightfully smooth with lemon, rich pear, almond and hazelnut, and just a hint of buttery croissant. Excellent balance of fruit and richness. Thoroughly enjoyed the medium finish as the richer nutty flavors come through. Paired with grilled chicken and Asian vinaigrette salad which shows sparkling wine goes with just about anything. ($24)

Best quality-price ratio in California sparkling. Balanced fruit and nuttiness with great presence and length.

Good for the price/mostly balanced but a little too much sweetness for me. Maybe I'm really more of a zero dosage kind of gal?

Macerated golden apples, apple sauce, apple cider, overripe pineapple, toasted candied nuts. Lots of these kinds of apple flavors equals an oxidative style and this one is over the top for me.
