Rocca di Montegrossi
Toscana IGT Sangiovese Rosato
The 2023 Rosato is incredibly energetic like a horse waiting to bolt out of the starting gate. Ripe pineapple, pear and spiced citrus provide a foundation upon which the sparkling, lively acidity flutters. The balance here is admirable and nicely rounded and displays a lovely inner sweetness. This bottle could empty quickly. (Billy Norris, Vinous, May 2024)

A burst of sour melon and crushed rocks gives way to green apples and fresh mint as the captivating 2022 Rosato blossoms in the glass. This blends vibrant acidity with zesty mineral tones and sweet spice to create a truly harmonious and high-energy vibe on the palate. Nothing is out of place as the 2022 finishes with a tinge of crisp minerality, leaving the mouth watering as gingery spice hints fade. This is stunning today, yet it may get even better over the coming months in bottle. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2023)

Jun 1st, 2023The 2021 Rosato is irresistible and decidedly savory in the glass, with wild herbal tones and wet stone giving way to crushed apricots and lime zest. This envelopes the palate in soft textural fruits, while mixing saline-minerals with brilliant acidity, as gingery spices mount toward the close. It tapers off more salty than sweet, yet nicely refreshing, while leaving wild strawberry tones to linger. The word ‘yum’ does not do this justice. (Eric Guido, Vinous, May 2022)

Jul 7th, 2021The 2020 Rosato (Sangiovese) displays sweet melon and spring flowers offset by a twang of zesty citrus and flint. Medium pale pink. Floral strawberry, herbs and violets on the inviting nose. Then a slightly candied quality and a hint of residual sweetness diminish the vibrancy of the floral and juicy red berry flavors but contribute to a smooth, round mouthfeel. The finish is long and very precise, with obvious mineral elements emerging. 100% Sangiovese. (Ian D'Agata, Vinous, May 2019)
