This wine needs air, as it starts out showing little but tannin, acid, and peppery alcoholic heat at first. After an hour, very nice, tight fruit come out. Lots of smoky, minerally notes vie with macerated cherry fruit. Gravelly earth, leather and dark cherry fruit in the mouth. Long finish, with a bit of pepperiness. A solid Chianti.

Jun 14th, 2016I'm going to reserve judgment. I had a bottle a little over a year ago and as I recall it was quite nice. (I didn't take any tasting notes.) This one was tight and very reticent. Even the second day it didn't give up much. May have been a slightly off bottle. I have one more and will open it in a year or so.

Nice, light. Great with my meal. And a nice balance for 2 different tastes in wine. My wife's and mine!
