Mountain fruit always brings the tannins to the front but this 2016 Robert Craig version has plenty of ripe fruit to back it up. One of the wines I suspect will outlive a lot of us sharing our favorites here. This would be stride for stride with the most expensive Napa Cabernet Sauvignon wines. It’s a real deal. #californiawinechallenge

Dec 18th, 2020Just released. Opaque purple to rim. Toasted oak, cassis and leather with grippy dusty tannins. Dark fruit balanced with great structure. Finish goes on for a minute. Will be interesting to see the evolution of this.

Jan 16th, 2017Stone and dark fruit. Wound a bit tight, though this is young. Well structured wine. Is more of a Bordeaux style than many of the other Bobby Craig wines
