Santa Lucia Highlands Pinot Noir
Medium in body, fresh and driven, the 2022 Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands) is pretty forward in its red-fruited profile, but it also possesses a core of stern, rocky minerality. An enticing air of highlands herbs and sweet lavender adds further intrigue. Juicy, sweet raspberry, clove and a kick of toasty French oak sweetness make the 2022 an inviting choice for drinking over the next several years. (Billy Norris, Vinous, August 2024)

Medium Ruby color with aromas of berry fruits with floral and wood spice notes, aged for 11 months in oak. On the palate flavors of strawberry and cherry with tobacco, oak, tea, cola and herb floral notes. Well balanced, savory fine tannins, long finish ending with fruit and an oaky earthy character. Nice!

Mar 11th, 2024The 2021 Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands) is packed with dark red/purplish fruit, lavender, sage, mint, tobacco and mocha. This potent appellation-level Pinot Noir will surely be a crowd-pleaser, as it offers tons of fruit density and plenty of allure. I would give it a few months in bottle to soften. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

Amazing. SLH-style at its core. Funk and beauty and gorgeous acidity and fruit that goes on and on. Brings me to my happy place.

Aug 2nd, 20222019 vintage and the best I’ve tasted from non-estate Roar. Don’t even think about drinking this without at least a 4 hour decant. Came together on day 2 and was still singing on day 3. This is a roaring Pinot that pulls no punches. Gorgeous and well integrated. Ripe dark fruit flavor and nicely acidic. Cheers!
