The 2021 Pinot Noir Rosella's Vineyard is bright and effusive. Crushed red berry fruit, flowers, dried herbs and a kiss of sweet French oak are nicely lifted. This racy, exuberant Pinot is quite the charmer. It, too, will benefit from a bit of cellaring. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023)

Unrivaled elegance from the Santa Lucia Highlands. Brings a lot of florals in to play with red fruit.

A lineup of 10 August West and Roar Pinots, 2007-2011, all made by wine maker Ed Kurtzman, who attended our tasting. Savory and juicy.

Maybe the best vintage that I have tasted from Roar. Nose is definitely still closed an hour after decanting. Fruit is rich and what a powe mid-palate! Long finish. Nicely powerful and juicy. Fine tanins. There...enough blabbing.

Jake gives this a 9.4
A little funk on open that blows off revealing layers of extracted fruit and a full throttle mid-palette.

Quite a distinctive and gorgeous Pinot from Santa Lucia Highlands. Amber color is deceptively light for this full flavored wine. Rustic, woodsy with brightness on the edges. Medium acidity and a really fragrant and long finish. 14.8% ABV and it shows at opening. Needs to blow off a little.

Pinot Noir Shootout after a long week in Wine Bizz at where @WineWorks Marlton. Well Roar vs Roar! Both 2014! Rosella vs Pisoni! See pics.. Rosellas comes across with 15-20 minutes nice plum, tart cherry a little restrained, Yup! Probably young but O Well! After 1 Hour really opens up! Great mouth feel, good acidity really opening up! Then we try the Pisoni 2014 next! See Pic! CB 95 AFTER 2 Hours Rosellas opened even More! Giving me a humble upgrade to 97-97+! It happens to Best of us. CB
