I brought this wine to dinner almost as a joke, since I stopped buying the Pisoni PN and trashed this Vintage years ago. To my surprise this turned out to be quite nice with a lot of dark berries and nice smooth finish. There was a lot of wines at the dinner so had a bit leftover. The second day it was okay but developed a bit of vinegar notes on the nose and taste but sill had blackberries and blueberries all around. Have one bottle of the 2011 which I will get to shortly.

Mar 23rd, 2024Over the top, way to much fruit which overwhelmed the food, just coylingly sweet and out of balance (14.9% ach). Reminded me of a big monster Zin back in the day. I know this vineyard is the darling of the Roar line but rethinking my future purchases from the winery. Maybe more time in bottle? Got some left so we will see. The other Roars I’ve been drinking for a while are not like this one at all.
