Monthly WTF wine group tasting. This month’s theme was chardonnay from any region or vintage. Nice eclectic bunch! All wines tasted blind.
This was my contribution for the evening. This was the first vintage that RM was able to make this Chardonnay. I believe it was quite minuscule, somewhere around 90 cases. I was very curious about the ABV...12.8! This would be a good bridge between Cali Chardonnay and Oregon Chardonnay. Oak is very behind the scenes here, but it’s still rich and full bodied. Vibrant fruit...apricot, lemon and white peach aromatics with a palate of crushed limestone, ginger and honeysuckle. This sports a profile that is flavorful but also crisp. Very enjoyable.
