Nice bottle, if not a little underwhelming. Better two days later.

What a pleasant surprise! From Monte Bello to Geyserville, Ridge consistently produces classic Napa greatness. Well balanced, soft mouthfeel, Extremely smooth tannins. A beautiful ruby color, light oak, tobacco, raspberry, dark cherries, got a lot of nuttiness which was a delicious surprise. This wine has aged very well and really shows how a little aging can do wonders.

Rich, dark berry and smokey aromas. Supple dark bramble berry, spice, and a touch of raisin on the palate. Perfectly balanced acidity and tannins that leave a slight chalky mineral component that conjures nothing but desire for the next taste. Still youthful--could age at least another five years. ATP purchase that may no longer be available.

To me, this was best on pop-n-pour. Those who like love Syrah will probably enjoy it best with air, as that's when the Syrah takes over and the Grenache takes a supporting role.
