Dynamite Hill Petite Sirah Zinfandel

Big fan. YUGE. Wish more peeps cultivated Petite Syrah!

So tightly wound and tight fisted, even with three days of air, it was hard to evaluate. That said, you could definitely taste potential; maybe just not in my lifetime.

Wow. This was special. Aged balsamic with peak season strawberries. Dark chocolate, balanced coffee, port, cherry sauce.

Sill tightly wound… several hours decanting required. Strawberries and aged balsamic. Prune, raisin, asphalt, iron, port. Delicious.

A great wine, fun to compare to the 2000 at the same time.

Probably needs a bit more time. Saving my other bottles

2009 dynamite hill. Saving #2 for 2020.

Initially sharp tannins soft quickly to a solid framework. Twenty minutes in, it's smooth on tongue with just a bit of nice astringency on the finish. Black cherry and a hint of my favorite old leather belt on the nose.

Dry and musty earth nose. Really tight wine. Needs a few years or a southern soulful dish!
