Ridge Vineyards
Benito Dusi Ranch Paso Robles Zinfandel
This is good stuff. Reminds me of some Turley bottlings, in Tegan’s style. Vibrant red fruit on the nose, a hint of mint, dried figs, tinged earth and brown sugar. The palate has some crunchy red raspberry fruit, dried florals, vibrant acidity. Needs some air, but when it opens up, she sings. This is the kind of zin I like - well balanced, not overtly jammy, but with the personality and fruit to lure you in for more.

May 29th, 2018History begins in 1885, when Osea Perrone, a doctor in San Francisco's Italian community, bought 180 acres near the top of Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains. This is 100% Zin! Deep red almost purple. Aromas of cherry fruit and unmistakable Zin spice! In the palate, blackberry and cherry flavors with peppery herb spice integrated with dusty tannins. Lively acidity shows up in the medium finish ending with a big fruit finish. Nice!

Apr 24th, 2018Expensive but tasty. Enjoyed at Christmas dinner with a spicy dry rub pork. Would definitely purchase again as a splurge. Got on sale for $30.

Dec 26th, 2020Ridge ridge ridge you get it and you do it well. Not the best wine ever, but probably the best Zinfandel, if you’re into that kind of thing

Mar 7th, 2020Lots of acid, big raspberry and even some cherry cola notes. A bit hot with the alcohol content. Good expression of the grape and the region, just. Bit unbalanced for me to totally fall in love.

May 25th, 2019I agree w @Lee David on the fresh fruit and how well this is showing. Both bottles were great.

Mar 31st, 2019Better than any Boones Farm varietal, for sure. Red, almost purple in color and tasting of nicely aged grapes, boozy feeling - bit more than beer, but less than whiskey. 9.1! If I could give it a 9.15 I would.
