Funky foot! Another rough one. Calf liver on the grill, cedar meatballs. Weird chocolate smell, almost mole. Rum-soaked black mushroom in soy. Weird, spooky, Halloween-y, but not that bad, considering every other 2007 CDP I have had recently outright bit the tro'lls chode.

Really nice to enjoy a delicious Chateauneuf du pape after our recent barrage of Spanish wine 😋

2012v. Red cherry, raspberries, and blackberries on the nose with a little fruity black olive and garrigue. Medium body on the palette, slightly grippy, with a dry finish. Fairly easy drinking CDP. Paired with an herb and fennel seasoned pork roast. Merry Christmas! 15% ABV.

This girl put out some black berries, cassis, wild roses, lavender, anise, black pepper corns, pencil lead, campfire, sweet pipe tobacco, clove, and black dirt on the nose. I decanted her for about two hours before taking the first sip. It was like mom waking up a pissed off teen for work. But, it started to wake up and put its business socks on. Tannins were grippy and the acidity was edgy. Definitely firm for about an hour after decanting, but eventually it showed some finesse. Great buy for $21.99. This wine is in for the long haul tonight! Cheers!

Very hot at 15%! Decant for several hours. Rebottled. Opened up nicely over night. Fairly long finish. Not bad for budget CDP

The 2012 was everything I love about CDP. The vegetal aromas, dark fruiilt, decent tannins nice bright acidity. All for $21!
