Aug 8th, 2017“I had the chance to visit the extremely steep slope where the grapes for the 2009 Gratallops Vi de Vila Partida Bellvisos are sourced. It is a blend of Cariñena and Garnacha and the wilderness of the vineyard is found in the bottle. This is a wine they age and sell when they believe it starts to show some of its true colors and is therefore more developed than other new releases. 2009 is more powerful than other vintages, and the Cariñena shows quite closed with some earthy aromas, notes of iron and tree bark. This is a ripe, powerful, serious expression of Gratallops.” RP93, 2009
