Dido Montsant Macabeu-Garnatxa Cartoixa Blend

Opened in a family group in Catalunya Spain with no formal notes. Made by the redoubtable Rene Barbier where we having a tour at Clos Mogador this coming Saturday. One of those lovely luscious Mediterranean whites with a skinnsy bitterness with a low acid profile. A blend of Macabeu, Garnatxa Blanc and Cartoixa. Peachy notes in the profile.

Nose has light yeasted bread, plum skin, vanilla bean, bruised yellow apple, (minor) cider vinegar, do much going on here, wow.

Palate has ripe plum flesh, candle wax, ripe pear, candied lemon, light oaky/vanilla notes on the long finish.

Very weighty wine, a white that could be paired with a roasted pork dish!

50% Macabeu / 40% White Grenache / 10% Cartoixã

More opulence and length in this vintage than I've seen from this wine before.

Nez gourmand et un peu techno mais bien fait et sur les fruit jaune
Bouche gourmande sans complexité mais bien faite
Vin très agréable mais sans complexité

Jaune claire
Nez hebace et miele
Bouche ample mais fraîche avec une finale fraîche pointe d amertume

Refreshing and herbal with citrus and apple.

Light, grassy, touch of citrus on the finish...very nice...
