Wonderfully fragrant with notes of cinnamon gum, amaretto, leather shop, white mushroom, spiced plum on the nose. Mellow notes of cherry pie, buttery crust, with hints of marzipan on the palate with smooth tobacco and cinnamon on a nice lingering finish. Drink by itself! :)

Perhaps like a gentleman of the same age as this wine, this was not in its prime, but still had plenty of strength and was quite enjoyable.

On to the reds for the ‘59 fest. The fruit is fresh and lush, tart cherry, herbs, slight stony undertone, a bit of eucalyptus. Crazy good...no one could possibly guess the age. Not so true for me...

A wine for food. Drank with a nicely prepared seared duck breast and seared foie gras. Picked up a subtle smokiness on the nose and on the finish. Lightly spiced red and black fruits. Still a youthful wine and nicely balanced. This was the Grand Echezeaux. Not the Gevry.

This 1959 was in a very good condition. Didn't show tiredness even after an hour.

1969 Remoissenet Pere & Fils Grands Exhezaux Bergundy. Wine #3 of "Old Wine Night" at Chaya Venice w K, DS, McC, Andy. Much better than the Malconsorts. This wine was pleasant and had some fruit and body left to it. Interesting.
