So chewy and delicious. Blackberry compote and figs. Probably has many more years. I will hold off on the second one.

Relic Petite Sirah is well-made but so strong it is hard to pair it with any food or drink it alone. It starts with intense sweet fruit, followed by earthy flavors, and finishes with smooth tannins but burning intense acidity. The alcohol level is just too high and I don’t believe even steak would be a good pairing. This Petite Sirah would work only with lamb, venison, or other strongly flavored meat. Even after 13 years and hours of air, it is so strong it will overpower anything else.

Showing zero signs of decline, this one poured an inky black into the glass. Nose of black and purple fruit, baking spices. The entry was a lot of young black fruit, olive tapenade. Very robust with a rounded mouthfeel up front. Finishes with sweeter roasted cedar tannin but surprisingly there was a lot more tannin on the finish than I had thought there would be. Hint of roasted BBQ meats to the finish. This one could go another five years in my opinion, and might even improve a bit on the finish in the next one or two.

Still going strong. Very nice, with roasted meat, purple fruits and white pepper.

This was my favorite after trying this blind against some great turley petites. So drinkable now but has the stuffing to age. Balanced with good fruit, acid, tannin. 93-94

Too oaky. Bitterness when open. That blew off mouth better than nose. Heavy wine high alcohol
