Reichsrat Von Buhl
Forster Ungeheuer Riesling
Medium + lemon yellow in colour. Aromas of yellow fruits (peach) with a honeyed note. Carries through to the medium + intensity palate with a certain texture from the oak maturation. As outlined in previous notes putting Riesling to oak doesn’t seem right although it is more integrated than previous tastings, but it is an old German thing - arguably the Godfathers of Riesling. Impossible not to like this. The GG quality coming through. Ready to drink.

Sep 11th, 2022Deep lemon yellow in colour. Aromatics of apricot, fudge, confectionery and a touch of paraffin. On the palate a waxy unctuous texture with a fruit salad of flavours - medium plus intensity with low acidity. Fermented out to 13% alcohol and finishes dry. An excellent GG Riesling. Drinking at its peak and at the end of its drinking window according to some experts. Michael Schmidt is JRs German expert says 2013 to 2020.
