I still struggle with the idea of oak and Riesling - I guess it’s an old Germanic thing. M minus acid. Quite sweet the next day although essentially dry at 12.5% ABV.

Oct 27th, 2022Mid yellow in colour. Restrained white florals and resinous notes from the large 2400 litre casks. Not used to an oak presence in many decades of drinking dry Riesling, particularly from Australia. Not sure that I like it. Still plenty of acid and extract amongst the citric and white peach flavours. Finishes dry with 12.5% ABV with good grip. Needs more time to come together - next in a year or two. Expected more from a $70 wine.
