Probably a little more full bodied than the Wrattonbully Shiraz from Bellwether a few nights ago. It’s interesting that Shiraz was initially THE grape In Coonawarra back decades ago but now much better known for Cabernet Sauvignon. A whiff of vanilla oak together with black plum and dried meat/charcuterie notes on nose and palate. Great value at only $30 per bottle. Redman are one of the original producers In Coonawarra established in 1908. Bought at the Cellar door.

Meh. I can't even construct a note on this wine. Just meh. So underwhelmed. No fruit, over oakey and way out of balance. I had such high hopes...

Concentrated fruit, firm tannin structure, lacking a little freshness but I think it had been sitting on this shops shelf for too long.

Needed some time to open up and shake off a bit of mustiness, but it’s a nicely balanced, medium weight number with savoury blackberry and a touch of leather. Interesting to sip alongside a 2004 McLaren Vale shiraz tonight.

Ripe fruit and oak as you'd expect, but nice Vegemite stink too.
