Tasted blind. Expensive tasting oak. Good intensity of fruit. A little one dimensional but extremely enjoyable.

The 2010 Lost Mountain by RdV is decidedly more complex than the 2015 I tried. Better year? Goodness knows. Maybe the wine just gets better with age. Could be the case with the expensive oak integrating more seamlessly over time. This is a delicious Bordeaux blend and never in a million years would I have guessed that it was from Virginia.

A bit out of context at this dinner. Huge style of wine, alcohol very present. Jancis loves, though, so what do I know?

Can you believe a $100 old-worldish Virginia wine?

yes, it's big, but it is balanced and oh so tasty with peppery southern-fried chicken.

Big Bordeaux blend, ripe vintage, interesting aroma and full bodied wine. A bit too blunt for me, but I can see why people like these. With Brendon.
