Fire & Ice; Second post in 2023 of this bottle, first post we still had snow, second we have no... Perhaps some variation against our favor tonight, this seems a little flat, but should be other than...🤷🏻‍♂️

Nose has chocolate covered cherry, raspberry jam on old saddle leather, stemmy notes, moist garden soil, ripe black cherry and (faint) licorice/anise notes.

Palate has black cherry, blackberry, dried oak, dried cranberry with moist loam on the medium length finish. A young bottle still, please cellar and enjoy 2026-2036 from proper storage. Decanted 8H.

Paired to 12H salted, then Asian BBQ rub, grilled, local pork chops from Kinderhook Farm (Valatie, NY). Please support your local farming resources.

In general i was more impressed by the PN in the region on this trip than I was last year. This is a good example of why. Fruit, earth, good acidity.

Nose has dried grape vines, tobacco, ripe cherry, moist soil, wet leather, tree bark and horse stall. (Somewhat reminiscent of young Fixin or Nuits-S-G, being honest, good things to associate.)

Palate has ripe cherry, vine bark, tart cherry, dried blackberry, tar, (minor) bitter herbs (anise & fennel bulb), muddy potting soil with slight tannins on the long finish. I'd love to revisit this wine in 10+ years as it would likely be just stellar, it has all the structure to get it there, from proper storage. Future bottles may be 2028-30+. Decanted 4H.

$24 direct from the winery cellar, to our cellar, to our glasses tonight. Being in the wine club has good benefits. 👌

Memorial Day Weekend 2018 🇺🇸

Blueberry, red raspberry, blackberry (light), delicious. More time will be just fine, could be 2020-24 without concern.

This was outrageous at 8 years old. First quite truffled then just a memory of fruit. Palate framed by acid rather than tannin, gentle but light cranberry sort of tartness.
