This was an interesting Cab. The first time I tried this was whenever total wine first received this new product, so understandably the bottle may have bottle shock and tightness, with a lack in complexity until it rests again on the shelf for a while. After several more months, this bottle has definitely begun to show its wonderful, underrated charater. To begin on the nose, spice rack, fresh cut cedar, cocoa, and diving into the pallet, a mouth filling, rich, full body of blackberry and a touch of blueberry, smoked dark chocolate, baking spices, and a gripping long finish. Tannins had softened after the bottle was open 3 to 4 hours give or take, so a good decant for an hour or more would really be necessary. Overall I thought it was fantastic, a very powerful mountain top fruit driven Napa Cab, and the weird thing is that it made me think of Paul Hobbs style where he brings some of the natural spice of the Cab grape to the surface. I think this Cab has some great aging potential as well, and I'm excited to see this again in a few years!

Very interesting mountain cabernet.. Nose has a lot if smoke, cedar, black pepper, and rich fruit.. The palate is almost creamy with very soft tannins, but chewy red fruit and a silky finish. Definitely not one-dimensional.

Apr 2nd, 2018A great Cab to drink with burgers on the grill ! Blueberry notes and crisp tannins. Drinking the 2013 vintage & would buy this again.

Awful. Tongue-stripping, sandpapery tannins and almost no flavor. Extremely poorly made. One of the worst wines I've ever had that wasn't flawed.
