Nice example of OG Napa Cabernet. Nice dark purple, aromas of tobacco, leather, cassis, and Asian spice. Dry, medium weight, displaying acid, oak, and edgy tannins...I don’t drink much Napa Cab these days. It’s a rather one dimensional wine... but one dimension done well, from a decent site, and a brilliant wine-maker is sometimes enough. I think perhaps David Ramey’s genius is better experienced in his chards, but this wine was more than enough tonight with medium-rare filets.

A luscious promise in a bottle, rich, boldly aromatic and loaded for bear with cocoa powder and oaky tannins. It tasted like the early morning earth smelled on my last bike ride through Yountville flats. So primary, like just bottled. May be as good as the Pedregal of '08 but we won't know for 5+ years.

From a Magnum. So much potential and Opened too soon. Had the 07 not too long ago that had much smoother tannins. Decanted the 08 for several hours and still very tight. Would like to try this again in about five years. Still, very delicious and great with steak.

Wonderful way to start summer. 19 degrees and a beautiful cab. Lush, firm tannins and a long velvety finish. I am going to miss Themis wine. One bottle left.

Very nice Cab. Good price. Lots of dark fruits - boysenberry, blackberry, plum, cassis.
