Wonderful balance in this wine, the fruit was highlighted by cherries. Drank this back to back with a 2005 Showket Vineyard Bevan Cellars and this was preferred by the whole table. Just superb.

Three hour decant, back in the bottle and drank the next day. Drinking beautifully now, fantastic. Cedar, dark cherry, slight licorice on the nose. In the glass, well integrated tannins, long finish with the taste of amarena cherries.

Love Ramey wines... And the 05 Larkmead Cab doesn't suck. Black fruits, black licorice, good acid, lush integrated tannins. Cheers!

Blown away. Serious balance and finesse. One of those producers that flies under the radar when you talk about the best Cali has to offer. Typical to other 05's of late. Not super structured but the black fruit is pure, vibrant and youthful and not tired in any way.

Excellent. Soft tannins, still has some fruit but also has earthy notes. We had a bottle a few years after release and it was very tannic. Time has been very good for this.

Nose is dead but palate is layered with leather, blackberries, dust, mint, and chocolate. Still in prime form but now is the time. Really nice for the dough.
