Needs a bit of time to open up & to show the expressive fresh cherries, a touch of kirsch, dried orange peel, a touch of grapefruit bitter herbiness, fresh & juicy. Quite fruit forward.
Surprisingly light on the palate. A touch too light maybe. Fresh though. And juicy.
So nice.

Hits your nose like a boxing glove with a complex cocktail of kirsch & ripe blueberries with cloves and gingerbread, nutmeg and all the exotic spices you can name. Some nice earthy, mushroomy notes too, after some time.
On the palate surprisingly fresh (cold vintage) with high herby acidity. The tannins are slowly mellowing (20m in botte, no barriques). Very juicy and highly drinkable for a sfursat. A great wine.

I was looking forward to this wine since hearing about it roughly 4months ago and finally got my hands on a bottle. Pleased to say I am not disappointed. All the usual.suspects you would expect from a nice nebbiolo- tar anise cinnamon floral dusty cherries but HOT. Alcohol is just pouring off this glass. Even with a little time to settle it's still hot. Finally when it hits the tongue you realize this is no ordinary nebbiolo. Cherry and cranberry explode through driven by a powerful acidity and a big structure follows quickly behind, just as the earth and spices and tar/tobacco show up.
Paired it with a creamy Mac and cheese and was not disappointed.
