11.9%. Quite light bodied. Perfumed. Sweet pear and melon on the nose. Nice delicate wine but I think I’ve decided I don’t love Vermentino as a grape outside a few mainland Italian versions. Never really does what I want it to. Gimme more acid!

Railsback Frères, Cuvée Spéciale Vermentinu (2022) from Santa Barbara, California. It’s sustainably produced and fermented in cement and wood vessels, with additional aging in oak and concrete. This wine has a medium body; aromas of white peach and daffodils; and flavors of green apple, pineapple, grapefruit, and almond.
-Food drinking wine - would be great with garlicky dishes, like pesto, and seafood pasta
