Hulda Block Las Madres Vineyard Syrah
Plenty of acid. Bright tart fruit (cranberry).m but i sense some darker fruit hiding beneath. Not huge tannins. Meaty. Drank it pretty quickly and probably would have given more air.

Apr 2nd, 2020This one still has a long road ahead. Hit a sweet spot about 3.5 hours into decanting. Nice now, could be really nice a couple years from now.

Sep 24th, 2017The purity here is tremendous. I believe some have called Las Madres the To Kalon of Syrah vineyards, and this may be en pointe! Blueberries and blackberries and other assorted dark fruits. Tannins are moderate and well integrated already! Another @Mike Smith winner!

Feb 3rd, 2017As others have said, this one needs quite a bit of air. Right up there with the Kenefick Ranch but just a touch below, IMO.
