This is what convinced me that Portuguese wine is worth exploring. Fantastic. Some oak, great tannins, supple but restrained.

Fantastic wine. Reminds me of a great rioja with a strong oak nose. Nice tannic finish. Heavy bodied with really good balance.

Forgive me for lovin' the juice, but this Douro red brings it with such elegance and grace. It's meaty and sophisticated, juicy and nuanced, bright and plush...well pit together in the best of the modern sense. It feels, well, indulgent. If there's such a thing as a Portuguese 'gateway' way into into Cali cults, this may be The One!

Bordelaise in its build. Lots of currant, leather, smoke around a core of fine ground tannin and graphite.

A little strong on tannic, but well structured finish. Some oak.

Made short work of this Portuguese reserve. The first pour was quite tasty, but the next mellowed out considerably.

Fantastic rich reserva Douro with great acidity, balanced fruit and tannins, awesome with dry-rubbed steaks
