Quantum Leap
Kaley's Rescue Red
Quantum leap Riesling 2012
Light straw in color with a golden hue.
Light on the nose with lemons, grapefruits, light tropical fruits, red apples, limes, minerals and aluminum.
Medium bodies with high acidity.
Dry (but not bone dry) and crisp on the palate with limes, yeast, spices, grapefruits, citrus, melon, green apples, apples and slate.
Medium + in length on the finish with lime and some bitter notes at the end.
Nice and drinkable Riesling made in Orlando, Florida, grapes brought in from the Rough Valley in Oregon. Not too sophisticated but still a nice sipping wine.
Paired it with grilled chicken and avocado sandwich.
12.3% alcohol by volume.

This is an interesting blend of Malbec, Tempranillo, cabernet franc, Merlot.
Dark ruby in color with a violet rim. Medium bodied with nice thin legs. Nice on the nose with blueberries Figs, cherries, plums and spices. Thin on the palate and fruity, with dark berries, oak, cocoa and black pepper.
Big tannins on the finish with blackberries. The contrast between the heavy tannins and the thin body was interesting. I don't remember experiencing such a difference before. 14.5% alcohol by volume.

Baked plum, muted profile, tarragon, sawdust and purple gum ball on this light-framed wine. Definitely past its prime, and stemmy to boot. A little like red icing on grapeskins, with a red plum bath. Not horrible, not terribly memorable. Drink this super young, and support the SPCA!

Jan 12th, 2015Very nice Paso Robles sourced red blend. Pleasant nose, complex on palate with just enough tannins to be bold but not overwhelming. Bonus is that portions of sales go to a pet rescue I. Honor of the winemakers former pet Kaley for whom the wine is named.
