Sold out ex-winery, luckily available in a great little wine outfit called 'Barrique' in the centre of Healesville.

Fresh, lots of purple fruit and florals, little acidic crunch mid-back palate. Tastes pretty, fresh.

100% whole bunch, carbonic maceration Cab Franc. Pronounced & complex nose - herbal and fruity, reminiscent of root vegetables, tomato leaf, blackcurrants, brambly fruit and sarsaparilla. Smooth and juicy on the palate with sneaky length and a fresh liquorice kick on the finish. Interesting and pleasurable wine.

Last night I decided to crack into one of my #thetcwineclub bottles. I had every intention to cook the lentil and lamb moussaka on the back of the tasting note however I ended up coming home from the supermarket with items to make a platter! Cooking went out the window! However Cab Franc is known to match goats cheese really well so I knew the wine would work wonderfully with the 2 goats cheeses I had.

Airlie Bank comes from the Yarra Valley in Victoria. It’s the second label of Punt Road and is all about small batch production and experimentation. I thoroughly enjoyed this vino, it definitely helped me wine-d down on a Friday night for the weekend.

It’s a brilliant ruby red colour in the glass - especially when you catch it in the light. On the nose it’s earthy yet fruity, mushroom & truffle with a violet perfume and cherries. In the mouth it’s juicy and thirst quenching, flavoursome and approachable with an excitingly long and lingering finish. Great with the goats cheese and prosciutto especially.

All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy! #tcweekdaywine
