Psâgot
The Land Jerusalem Cabernet Sauvignon Blend
#kosherwineSunday
Ruby in color with a wide reddish rim.
Full bodied and already showing nice complexity.
Dry on the palate with medium acidity.
Showing blackberries, black currants, plums, cherries, light oak, licorice, spices, dark chocolates, alcohol, coffee, peppercorn and earth.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and raspberries.
This interesting Cabernet blend from Israel is still young and would be better in a couple of years. Will continue to age nicely in the next 5 years.
Good right out of the bottle, and better with airtime.
Good by itself or with food.

Dark ruby garnet. Inviting nose of red fruit and slight rubber. Medium palate of red apple peel, blackberry, and cassis with that rubbery note lightly on entry and much more assertive on the moderate finish. Medium tannins. Medium acidity. This wine is Mevushal meaning it’s been processed (originally burned… in modern times it’s flash pasteurized) so that a non observant person can serve it but it maintains it’s kosher status. If this is important to you, then this is a excellent wine to accompany a hearty meal as the slight rubbery overtones mesh well with meat or root-centered dishes but may be off-putting on its own. But then, wine was meant to go with food, family, and friends. L’Chaim! Drink now through 2023.
