CA Cab Franc and 1.5" tomahawk...a great Saturday night combo!

Color is a deep ruby purple-red, still fainty translucent.
Nose is a smokey blueberry, anise and cassis linger.
Palate has dusty, ripe cherry, black pepper and perhaps a light eucalyptus profile. No tannins on this beauty, drinking very well and an excellent pairing to the medium-rare beef this evening.

24hr Update: Pending... (This bottle is continually evolving with air so I hope to see how this shows tomorrow, but the wife just slid macaroons we bought on our recent France holiday in front of me, so not sure this bottle will see tomorrow, but there is more in the cellar. 😁)

24hr Update (Actual): Nose has Rutherford dust-like blueberry, perhaps a bit of Oak is starting to show, Cassis is also more prominent tonight. Palate is blueberry/cherry/cassis jamminess, yum, no eucalyptus showing at all now. Nice bottle still after one day of air, not losing a step.

Subtle vegetal aromas, red fruit flavors, juicy acidity and smooth tannins. Vanilla and spice. Nice glass of wine.

Calistoga trip - 2015 peppery, berry short finish.
Had a second bottle in 2020 - very strong start, needs to open up. Very peppery

Big, full bodied Napa, but eccentricities. Two layers to it. One - sweet oak, vanilla berry on initial palate, which fades to two - earthy licorice and lingering smoke, and pairs deliciously with six-month manchego cheese. Also, soft tannins are a nice touch.
