#AgedWineTuesday

Inky in color with short reddish/brick rim. Not showing much age.

Fruity nose of black fruits with cedar, licorice, chocolates, coffee, light earth, herbs, spices and tobacco leaf.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry and fruit forward on the palate with black currants, black plums, blackberries, cedar, licorice, light vanilla, tobacco leaf, black pepper, herbs, earth, mediterranean spices and light black tea.

Long finish with soft tannins and cherries.

This is a delicious 19 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Stags Leap District in Napa Valley. Elegant, energetic and smooth. Very complex, engaging and inviting.

Drinking at the end of its peak, and will continue to drink nicely in the next 5 years.

I did not decant it, and left it in the bottle to open up. Good right out of the bottle, and much better after 2 hours.

Still showing lots of fruits. Nicely balanced with enough earth notes to balance it. A gorgeous sipping wine.

13.7% alcohol by volume.

94 points.

$50 (at release).
