Decided to try out a box wine because I'm feeling thrifty. Pretty good. Would buy again.

Dec 24th, 2020I only drink box wines occasionally during the week when we just want a glass and don't want to open a bottle, but I've tried quite a few. The Pour Haus cab is decent for a box wine. There's dark fruit of raspberries and blackberries on the nose and an interesting midrange that resembles gun metal and pencil lead. Definitely un-oaky, and the finish has some spice, but very few tannins. Off-dry, but not exactly sweet. The slight metallic taste goes away with food. I've had worse box wines for sure. This one is at least interesting.
